So I did the thing which turned out to be very silly and cost me my caliper. I was given some nice Geolanders on 15" rims from a fully tricked-out 98 Hylux. Happily, I proceeded to install them on my 2005 4Runner, and they fit nicely on the back, looking sharp. They seemed to be just what the doctor ordered for my backwoods location. Proceeding to the front, there were clearance issues with the 16" wheel caliper setup. So grinder in hand, about to shave a tiny bit off the caliper, I thought: Let me try some 2"wheel spacers first. They came but alas, there was still a bit of contact....long story short, I ground and hit the fluid line, which is surprisingly close to the top surface of the caliper. Now I am flapping, of course, really hoping to find a solution. Is there a lower-profile aftermarket caliper anyone heard of? Or can I make a 15"rotor and caliper work on my front end? Not sure if the mounting holes will line up on my 16" front assembly. Any ideas and tips I would truly appreciate...
