16 inch wheels...

I have the "big" wheel package on my 97 with the 265 70 size tires. Did these option vehicles come with larger brakes, or are they the same as the 15" wheel model trucks?

Just wondering because I'm debating going with new 15" Mickey Thompson sidebiter wheels to get a load range c tire, rather than E

If it's a Limited and came with the 265/70's, then yes, you probably have the upgraded brake package which requires 16" wheels. 15's won't fit.

Lots of SR5s got the larger wheels (and brakes) from the factory, too, including mine.

Thanks for the replies. I have an SR5 with the bigger wheel package option. I ran my vin and it showed it as an added factory option, but no info on the brakes so this will help my decision with wheel options.
