1986 oil consumption

My 86 runner with 165000 will use 1 quart every 300 miles or so on the highway, around town it consumes much less. I have replaced the PCV 2 times and it still sucks down the oil, It does not smoke and i dont see any on the ground even with the skid guard off. Any help would be appreciated.

1 qt every 300 mi should show up somewhere, either on the ground or in the exhaust.
That's just not normal, even at 165K miles.
When you stop the truck can you smell burnt oil?

I never smell oil And like I said it is only on interstate. I can drive all week in town and very little consumption. Frustrating...well at least the AC works

I actually never got to the bottom of that oil leak before the transmission blew up and then a so called "friend" took it from me while I was out of town and made it disappear somehow. .he was supposed to just watch it for me.. I'm pretty sure he parted it out to nothing --- sad thing is, I owed him nothing, he was just a thief.

It was a little 1989 Ford Ranger 2WD pickup. This happened back in March 2009.

My truck goes through a quart about every 1,000 miles, same sort of issue. I'd like to know where it's going as well. No smoke, no puddles.

Mine does the same and not burning it foe sure. No drips at all when I park. But my Oil cooler( right side of the oil filter) looks nasty and black, I assume it leaks when I am driving. Check to see if your oil cooler has any oil around it.
