1987 22RTE 4runner with no spark

Hello All,
I recently bought my runner but none of the electrical works. Meaning my windows won't role up or down and half of the interior lights work. To top it all off it won't start. I have tried two different coil/igniters and it still is not starting. The thought that it could be a ground issue sticks in my mind. I get 12v to the coil terminals and it has started once before for me, but thats it. HELP! Anybody out there with ideas please let me know. Thank you.

Thank you for the reply. I have checked all fuses in the driver's kick panel as well as passenger fender, all are good. It is a very strange thing going on.

Check the wiring to your fusible link. I'm trying hard to fix mine now. What I found is that the power wire coming off the + terminal feeds the fusible link. There are two other wires tied into that same connection. If something is loose there it will act like its going to start but it won't.

I'm going to start a new thread on my problem please comment if you can help.

You might try looking at the underside of engine compartment fuse box board looking for corrosion or burned copper.

Testing the Igniter

Does anybody know how to test a 53EX igniter? My coil tested good but when I put it all back together I still don't have spark. AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!! Thanks for all the input and help.
