Thats gonna look alot better than before. I want some sides from slacker, but the shipping is rediculous to ohio. Are you using flux cored wire? What are you gonna do with the holes in your rockers?

I have a new panel for that section immediately behind the door as well, the mock-up was only to trace the cut line for the wheel arch onto the body. That entire rocker section is being replaced so no tracing is necessary, I'm cutting it at the seams there. I'm using 030 flux core, that's as small as my machine will go. I'm also running it on the 115 side with the power setting and feed as low as they'll go. That cured my earlier burn-through issues but the tack needs to be really quick even with those settings.
I'm working on it all day tomorrow, hoping to have everything completely welded up and ready for filler by Saturday. I'll keep you guys updated.

Driver side quarter panel installation

Well, they're done........Finally! It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, the rocker panel behind the door was the worst of it but that was only because the dude who made the panel f'd up and put the lower seam too high. I scored the back of the panel and bent it back a little but it will need filler to complete so the transition is perfect....No biggie.
I spent right at 5 hours to cut out the old rusty crap and fit, cut and weld the new panels in place. Tomorrow I plan on starting the filler and getting the body ready for primer, hopefully by the end of the weekend but we'll see how quickly I'm able to prep the body.
I'll post again at the end of the weekend with more pictures.
