I have been having the same starting issue with my 98 4WD v6 Ltd. Most of the time it I put the key in & my steering locks up, then the key wont turn until I unlock the steering. Then when I turn the key to start it I get the same click sound & it will do this usually 3x before it finally starts. Recently I would start so I had it towed...some of the other posts suggested it might be the starter connectors. I am going to try this & see what happens! I'll let ya know.
