1990 4Runner no power

1990 V6. It has almost no power starting from a stop. Transmission rebuilt and engine tuned. Any ideas?

Much more detail is needed. Automatic or manual? Is the trans slipping? Is the motor running well or does it stumble? What size tires and what gear ratio are you running in the diffs? Did you check to see if the ebrake or a front caliper is seized?

no power issue

Sorry forst time post. Lets see - front brakes pades replaced. Rear braks drums adjusted. Automatic. Trans just rebuilt. Motor running well. Normal tires. Don;t know about differential (probably factory).

How long have you had the truck? Was it working fine and then suddenly got sluggish, or is the truck new to you and you're just now discovering the craptastic combo that is the 3VZE motor in front of the A340 transmission?

Next question, is it shifting normally, or is it trying to start out in 4th gear? Try manually shifting through the gears and see if that makes a difference.

Also try pulling the engine codes, even if the check engine light isn't on. There could be stored information in there that's helpful.

4runner new to me. shifts good. I will try manually shifting gears tonight and readign codes. Tx

Use your stethoscope and listen to hear that all the injectors are clicking.
