I am learning all about the dasterdly rear upper control arm bracket breakage problems.
My right rear bracket is ripped nearly off the housing. I am getting it patched, but the last patch did not hold very well (nor was it performed very well).
So, a few questions:
1) is the panhard bar preloaded or can I just drop it with no hassel lining it back up?
2) are the upper control arms preloaded (same deal)?
3) does anyone know where to get a replacement bracket or should I just gusset what I have?
My plan: Drop the panhard and upper arm. Cut off the bracket and replace it OR drop the above and gusset it with new plate along the sides.
After it is fixed good, I plan to save up for the upper arms with heim joints.
Unrelated question: I have an electrical connection going to the top of my 3rd member with a sensor or something there that is magnetized (it attracted a bunch of grinder dust from cleaing out the old welds). What the heck is this thing?
Thanks much!!!
