1992 4runner

I just bought a 1992 4runner with 165k on it. Runs and drives perfect! But I have some oil leaks. I am having 2 silver dollar sized spots on the driveway each time I have driven the vehicle and then parked it. I put in a quart of oil recently and this is only about 1000 miles since last oil change. It is the 3.0 v6, is it a HUGE undertaking to get to the valve covers?(this is the place I see oil running down the back side of the engine) Is it worth it to stop this amount of oil from leaking? Is that Stop Leak product harmfull for your engine? Thanks, Chris

most likely your front main (on your oil pump) or oil cooler (the round thing under your drivers side exaust manifold on the eng block) remove your crash pan , go to the car wash and blast everything off...keep an eye on it and it should present itself to you if its leaking that fast...dont let the level go low...or youll be shopping for a motor..
good luck

The intake has to come off with all the Vac lines and such, depends on your wrenching skills:confused:

I would take some good pic's before you start there are lots of lines on there......good luck.

I just had both valve cover gaskets replaced and while the mechanic was in there found that the rear cam plugs needed resealing and there was a stripped bolt. So hopefully won't see much or any more oil leaks for a while!! This shop has been good to me so I think I can tolerate a $323 bill for this. All labor!
