1992 tailgate window not operating - Help

The original tailgate rusted out, so I had it replaced with a rustfree, used tailgate. Everything worked well upon install and I lent my truck to a friend and unfortunately it came back NA. Now, when I turn the lock switch on the tailgate I hear a click from the driver's side of the tailgate, but the glass does not lower and the tailgate remains locked. So I removed the carpet trim and metal cover and everything looks great in there, just no luck getting the window to operate. Also, I disconnected the lock and the release handle works fine. Any advice would be much appreciated on getting the window to operate. Thank you.

Fairly simple system, pull up the FSM that has a sticky at the top of the board and look at the diagram for the back door. May want to wait for a nice sunny day and tear down the door to get at the window regulator. Put the meter on it to see if it works.

Not an expert, but there's not much to it, if I recall, the regulator does have a tendency to go.

x2 on what mike said. As you probably noticed when you had it apart, the only other step to accessing the regulator and other innards is just peeling back that clear plastic layer.
