i need some help. i have a 1993 v6 3.0 that is surging at idle and sounds like it is cutting down to 3 cylinders. over 1000rpm tho is gets better but going down the road feels like it is under powered and random miss fires but not horrible. the truck is still drivable by all means but acting up.

i have replace air filter, oil, rotor, and spark plugs. just tuning it up cause i just bought it. i think it might be the maf? i am goin to check it today and unplug it to see if it changes. might be the fuel filter? thats a cheap part that wouldnt hurt changing

truck is 4x4 165k and does have a exhaust leak on manifold flange driver side... i am goin to fix exhaust leak but that couldnt be it could it?

any help would be great thanks!!

Im not sure man.....i would do a compression check on the cylinders for starters.......: (
Goodluck!!!

alright changed
-fuel filter
-rotor and cap
-wires
-plugs
-oil and filter
-air filter
-battery
-fixed exhaust leak

checked
-mini box next to coil
-maf
-vacuum lines

truck is idling back but running better and randomly miss fires under 3k rpms every one in awhile but not back. what does the O2 sensor resistor require to trick computer to thinking she running properly? that will check that for me. do these things have a throttle position sensor i can check? maybe it is the idle air control valve? any help would be great thanks! this is what i have narrowed it down to

might be main coil but i think it would run worse and even over 3k rpms if that where bad?

timing was off and tps was loose..... it is adjustable and obviously guy who i bought it from this weekend replaced it and did a ****y job! purrs like a kitten now!
