1994 Air conditioning issue

Folks-

Hoping that I can get lucky and there is some electrical issue at play here, however, I doubt it.

The air conditioner will initially work if the vehicle has been parked in a location that is not too terribly hot, such as a garage, in the shade, etc....however, after about 15-20 minutes it quits and warm air begins to flow. Once this happens it wont work again until sitting overnite in a cool area.

If in a hot location when I initially start the vehicle it will not work and just blow warm air.

Obviously the compressor is working correctly or it would never blow any cold air.

I am wondering if there is an electrical switch somewhere that could be faulty? Maybe something that I would be unaware of.

Thanks

My AC works great in cold weather and my heater works awesome in hot weather! I wish I could be of more help. I will be learning about the AC system pretty soon though, so maybe I'll be more useful in a couple of months.

Yes i have checked the freon level and it is good. I was thinking that there might be some switch malfunctioning or something.

sounds like maybe a temprature switch relay is malfunctioning

have you checked the wiring diagrams or tested any electrical components of the a/c system??

Forgot to mention..when the AC is working there is a definite noise coming from the glove box area. Kind of a whine that changes with the engine speed.

I am certain that this has something to do with my issues...what is back there?

that is where the cooling unit is located along with all the elecrical connections and most of the relays

remove the golve box to access everything back there

do you have the fsm with wiring diagrams and troubleshooting guides??
