1995 4 runner

I have 31" tires on stock rim's. I purchased the toy with them and i want to down size them and get smaller rim's what is normal size? 175R 15's ?
I want better gas millage and better winter driving i will be buying new rim's. I have looked all over for what size rim to purchase and now i have found you all to help me. I hope :roadkill:

Your stock 15" rims are what you want to stick with. If you want to downsize your tires then you can get some 225/75/15. They are the stock tire and will help with gas mileage and power a little. They do look really small though if you don't mind.

oh god i'm still running stock 225/75/15's right now... waiting for my 35's... they are too small and too skinny.

Since you are looking for winter tires, go with something wider than a 225.
I think if you stay with a 31" and get something a tad wider you will be set. You aren't going to have any noticeable change in mpg with downsizing by 0.5" - 1" .

I can put these tires and rims back on in the summer just want tires for the winter thinking of studded as my wife drives this one and i use it to go to the ski hill. I am after safty and milage looks are secondary.

your 4Runner might have come with the 31" tire option from the factory , so going with a smaller tire you will lose gas mileage !

I phoned a local toyota dealer they suggested 215 /R75 15's nothing smaller

not sure why gas milage would go down with a smaller tire did not want the size smaller just the width narrower still 15 "
