Weird question……..
I have a 1995 4Runner 3.0. I changed the Valve cover gasket a few weeks ago. Battery was unhooked for 1 hour. MAS hose was disconnected from plenum. MAS was never unplugged. When the job was finished the truck ran better than ever. 25% increase in HP, wonderful idle, ran like never before. I had never really noticed that it didn’t run great. After 2-3 weeks it has reverted to normal operation. No engine light codes.
Do I have some fault stored in the ECU that would cause me to run in some type of “limp” mode that would activate my engine light? Do I try to reset the ECU and see if get the good results again? Do I take it to an auto parts store and have the ECU reset with a handheld?
Just curious as to anyone’s opion………?
