1995 4Runner V6 2WD Brake Booster and MC Replacement

First, my apologies if posting in wrong area. Please move to different category if needed.

Second, newbie on this forum, and appreciate all of the information available from experienced 4Runner brethren.

Third, I just purchased a 1995 4Runner V6 2WD and need to replace the brake booster. Found out how this is done from this forum and youtube. My question is how do I know if my 4Runner has ABS? This apparently makes a difference between the type of booster to purchase from NAPA. VIN decoder says my vehicle has ABS. Instrument panel has error light for "rear anti lock brake" .

Is there a visual check to see whether I have ABS?

I'm pretty sure it will have abs on the front but just in case just take a look inside the front wheel area. There should be a couple wires in a plastic loom going from the frame rail, along the a-arm into the spindle. That's the abs sensor. If you see any wires around the wheel that's what it would be.

DeciansDaddy -- thank you. Will look in the area you mentioned. Will have to get under there anyway, since I need to replace the exhaust also.

Speaking of exhaust, anything I need to be watchful for? Planning to use stock exhaust, with new cat. Will have a local exhaust shop do the work. I'm estimating ~$250 - $300??

ABS -Not

Purchased master cylinder and power booster for 1995 4runner V6 2WD with ABS option. When compared to what is in the vehicle, the master cylinder does not match. Therefore, the vehicle must be non-ABS. Must return MC and booster for non-ABS models. Will get'er done this weekend. Doesn't bother me at all, love to learn new vehicles, and appreciate the expertise found here. Look forward to many more projects.

Brake Booster and MC install Complete

Installed the non-ABS brake booster and master cylinder without a problem. Brakes bled, reservoir filled. Test drive good. One side note: when brake booster is removed, the brake light switch should be closed or battery disconnected to prevent the brake lights from remaining on.
