1995 factory security system?

hey, so i was wondering if anyone could tell me if the '95s typically came with a factory security system installed. bought my '95 about half a year ago, and when i looked at the carfax then, on the first inspection it said "security system present" or whatever. there is a red light next to my steering column [at the top of one of the rectangle "extra button" type spaces] that is always one, but it does not say "security" such as in a picture i found on a website but cannot post because right-click says "image is copyrighted". when i bought the truck it did not come with a key fob or anything, just a key. and if so, how should i go about getting a new remote for it? the ones i've found say "program yourself" or whatever but i do not know if i need a code on the old remote to do this.

so i got an email back from toyota's ask a question thing, but they said according to their records, based on my VIN i do not have a factory installed security system...but as i said, when i viewed the carfax before purchasing the truck it said it had one on it's first inspecition..so i dunno

My 95 has got the little red LED mounted in the switch location. No fob for it. I just have to turn the key ON and then toggle the switch under the dash by the hood release reward then forward to turn the alarm OFF if I happen to set it off.

Every time I unhook the battery and hook it back up the lights flash and the alarm sets itself like I might use the arming switch. When I open the door it sets the alarm off. Sort of a PIA but I'll live with it.

There is also a sticker in the rear side door window and I'll get the info off it and post it tomorrow for you, that might help you in your search for info if it happens to be the same type.

thanks! i've never set my alarm off though.. so like i said, i have no clue what's going on lol. the light is ALWAYS on
