1995 Idle problem

Hi guys,

New here, so a little background. Newly purchased 95 SR5 4x4, V6 5-spd, 142k.
Truck is in great shape, with one exception, after crusing, (especially when warm) when coming to a stop it dosen't want to idle. Idle speed drops to ~400 for a sec or two, then jumps to 750 & is smooth as glass. More of a nusence untill yesterday when it did it & I ran out of vacuum for the booster & almost ass-ended the poor woman in front of me!

I'm thinking idle air controll valve, but would like some backup before I begin toubleshooting. Is this a common problem? Suggestions?

Yep, it sounds like you need to pull and clean your IAC. That plunger can get quite a bit of carbon buildup and stick in one place.
