1995 Rear End Swap

I have a 95 4runner with G254 rear end axle code (4.566)
I have an Elocker rear end from a 98 4runner with axle code A04A (4.56)

Has anyone made this swap before?

I think the '98 axle is wider. Probably easier to modify your own axle housing to accept the elocker third.

It is a major job. Very little will transfer over. Spring towers are different, break lines are different, shock connections are different, axel length is different, differential angle is different and on and on. Then there is the wiring harness. Can it be done, yes, but not without a lot of head aches. I strongly suggest that you consider an ARB air locker. Here is a write up on an e-locker swap. That alone would make me run from the thought.

Why not just swap the locked diff into the 95 axle?
It's a bit of work, but if the locked axle is cheap enough, it's worth it.
