This is my 1997 SR5 4Runner. It has 161,500 miles and the previous owner did not take much care of it. I have had it since 142,000 and have babied it the entire way. There are a few things I want to take care of this week, and hopefully you guys can help me out. First thing. Rust. There are a couple of small rust spots that I want to take care of before they escalate into something I can't handle.
This is the first one and it is one of two located on the roof.
This is the second on the roof.
I am not sure what I can do, if anything to take care of those spots... Any suggestions?
The next order of business is the driver's seat. It has a large tear in it and I was wondering if anyone had a particular preference for seat covers- I've heard wet okole's are the best. Any others for our trucks?
I have had some pretty bad luck with the truck lately. Somebody decided to borrow a part of my rear passenger side rim. Not sure what part it is called- anyone? I need to replace it because it looks really bad in person.
The last thing I need to figure out is how to remove my running boards with a clean cut. The back part looks great, however when I move towards the front- the front fenders end before the paint does on the truck. This is a bit hard to describe. The diagram shows the problem. When I remove the running boards, the areas between the red dotted lines are just part of the truck- and I'm looking for some sort of fender cap, or something to make it looks like the fender extends another 3 or 4 inches. I'm sure someone knows that I mean.
I really do appreciate any help that anyone can give me on this. Thanks in advance!
