1997 4runner transmission

got the strawberry milkshake last week. flushed motor and tranny several times. everybody says my tranny will be cooked soon. i have a 1997 4runner limited, with 4x4. i found a tranny out of a 99 4runner limited 4x4.....can someone please tell me if this is a direct replacement, or is the electrical different. thanks in advance, alex

Yes, i am pretty sure it will, the only difference there was was the centre diff lock which is electronic, but youre only replacing the tranny so you should be good.

sorry man. i just bought a 97. what were your signs and symptoms? or did you just check it out? whats your mileage?

There is a much different transfer case on the 99 limiteds.
