hello,i am new to the forums and got a question to ask about my cousins toyota 4runner.hes 18 and a dumb ass and he blew the rear end out of his 97 4runner.it has the 3.4 i think and is a manual.i was wondering what years for yota are interchangeable for the rear end.he shattered the inside of the gears doing a reverse burnout.would all 3rd gen 4runner rear ends be good to use.what gear ratio do these have?the more info the better, thanks ahead.

i am about 70 percent sure about this.

i dont think they made 5 speeds with a 3.4 engine... am i correct guys?

you are wrong ... they did offer a manual trans w/ the v6

as far as the rear differential, i can't help on that because i am pretty new to the vehicle, i have seen a site detailing the differences of the 4runner and Land Cruiser rear ends though, so i'm sure if you search enough between google, yotatech and here that you will find the info.

good recovery

have you noticed you can pickup a brand new Tundra double cab for less than the Tacoma double cabs?

Toyota's marketing decisions.... strange
