1998 4Runner Shifter Bushing and Seat Part (Canada). Can I use 2nd Gen Part?

I am thinking about replacing the shifter bushing + seat on my 3rd gen 1998 4Runner with 300,000kms.

We get screwed up here in Canada for parts. I checked with the dealer and they want $80 just for those two small pieces of plastic. I've done the bushings on my 2nd gen 95' using dealer parts and it was only $30-ish. So I am just wondering if the bushing + seat from the 2nd gen can be used in the 3rd gen? Strangely, Toyota seems to have different part numbers for the shifter seat on a 2nd gen vs a 3rd gen 4Runner...despite the fact that they both have the R150F transmission. From my research, the part numbers for the seat + socket (respectively) are:

2nd gen: 33505-35020, 33548-31010
3rd gen: 33505-35030, 33548-31010

So my questions are:

1. Does anyone know if I can just use the 2nd gen seat?
2. If not, does anyone know of a more cost effective source (for Canadians)?

I will check for your tomorrow. I have a set of bushings sitting in my desk at work that I bought for mine, but it turns out mine are fine. I can send them to your for 5 bucks plus whatever the postage is. PM me with your zip and I can see what it costs to put them in the mailbox.

All the Toyota parts online stores and Marlin have high prices for shipping. Marlin wants $45 just to Fedex the two pieces of plastic! Was hoping someone might know of a cheaper source.

If not, I might just buy the 2nd gen seat + bushing from the dealer and hope it works on the 3rd gen.

Have you tried calling them? A lot of time those internet shipping quotes aren't very accurate.

Ya try marlin. That's what I did. V dealers a few bucks cheaper tho
