1998 4WD problems

Hey guys,

I just bought a 1998 4runner limited with the diff locker and 4wd. But, it snowed here in Utah this morning and I can't get my 4wd drive to work. Is there some sequence to putting it in 4H? I have the button on the side of the transfer case shifter and when I push it, nothing happens; no dash light, no clicking underneath the 4runner, or anything. it's like it doesn't even try to engage. What would you guys suggest? thanks...

I had a similar problem. Took it to the dealer who said he couldn't find an issue....moved the shifter from hi to low and back a few times and its worked ever since. He says theres a switch in there that gets dirty...put it in neutral and move that shifter back and forth a few times...see if that helps.
