1998 Rear bumper fit on 2001?

Hey guys new to the scene. Can y'all tell me if a 98 rear bumper will fit with little fuss on a 2001 4runner?

96 bumper on 2000

I purchased a 96 rear center section of a bumper from a wrecker. As for numbers matching saying it would fit my 2000.... It said it was a diff part number. It looked the same to me so i bought it and low and behold.... It fit!

I beleive theres diff part numbers with earlier third gens vs later third gens but they are both essentially the same piece.

Dont quote me on it being ok but that was my situation with putting a 96 chrome bumper on my 2000.
