Hey folks, as my title says I'm just looking for what I should be looking for in terms of quality struts or shocks at a good price! Mine are currently in the red on a 98 4runner with 289000 km on the dial so it's time for an upgrade!
any help is appreciated, not too knowledgeable on the subject :snacker:

If all you want is replacement shocks I say bilstein ALL the way. Nothing better. They will probably outlast your runner, get on Google and search 98 4runner struts for the best price. The full set runs about 300 bucks so about 150ish for front only. To save most money order and install yourself! If your not DIY savvy order them online and have a trusted mechanic put them in

Are you looking for stock replacements or are you looking to get a little lift out of it? Either way I agree with 00 4runner on the Bilstiens, I would look into the 5100s that way if you decide you want a little lift you can do it rather easily.

Oh wow! Thanks so much guys. I'll check out those right away!
And yes, this is going to be a DIYbetween myself (somewhat automotive-savvy) and my friend (was seriously raised by engines.) Hurray for saving money!

Thanks again!
