SOLD: 1998 4Runner, V6, 5speed, Supercharged, 4wd, elocker swapped with 202k located in Webb City, MO. Clean title, no accidents and non-smoker. Honestly it just sits in my garage and having 4 other Toyota’s I need to down size. I bought this in Springdale,AR about 3 years ago completely stock with 186k needing the knock sensors wiring harness replaced. Since then, I’ve invested a lot of my time and money building it to how it is currently. It’s not finished (how I wanted it to be) but doesn’t lack a lot from being a very nice and capable 3rd gen.
It has the following modifications done: 1st gen Supercharger with stock pulley and dynamic tensioner, Shrockworks front winch bumper (still have the factory front bumper), All-Pro Sliders with dimpled tread plates (welded on), RCI off road steel skid plates (front, transmission, and transfer case), emkeith Panhard bar relocation bracket, King 2.5” performance coilovers, SPC UCA’s, ToyTech front differential drop, ToyTech Boss rear shocks and superflex coils, removed (but still have front and rear sway bars), SS brake lines, Tundra brake upgrade (230mm), URD short throw shifter, Marlin Crawler shifter socket and seat bushings, Denso IK22 sparkplugs, 99+ center console and ebrake swap, Weather Tech floor liners (front, rear, and cargo), 550 paracord grabs handles (still have the factory plastic ones), Nilight LED light bar and pods on the front bumper, and bigger Toyota battery. It originally had 4.10’s with no elocker. I bought a wrecked 97 limited and swapped the 4.30 front and rear diffs and used Low Range off-road elocker wiring harness (works great). It has black TRD 16” FJ wheels with 295x75r16 Nitto Terragrapplers with full matching spare.
Maintenance items I’ve fixed or replaced: Knock sensor harness and associated intake gaskets, new radiator with upper and lower hoses, LCA’s, LBJ’s, inner and outer TRE’s, steering rack bushings and new updated steering rack guide, new exhaust from the manifold back (new cat and JBA cat back), all new rear axle bearings, seals, brake shoes and drums. Per previous owner the timing belt and water pump were changed around 178k (it looked like it was recently changed when I did the knock sensor harness). I’m running Redline MT-90 oil in the transmission. I’ve only ran Mobil 1 5w30 full synthetic oil and bigger Toyota oil filters since I’ve owned (previous owner stated he ran full synthetic as well).
The exterior has a few dents, dings, rock chips/scratches which is to be expected for its age but nothing major. The rear bumper is plastidipped from the PO. I don’t like it but was planning on buying a 4xinnovations rear bumper and tire carrier so I didn’t do anything with it. It’s from AR so rust wise is pretty minimal (everything is completely solid) but I would probably wire wheel and repaint a few spots on the rear frame. Interior wise is pretty good, the previous owner had little kids so the carpet isn’t great but Weather Techs hide a lot of it. It needs a good wash, wax, and detail (which I might have done before it sells). It comes with 1 key fob and multiple OEM keys. I’m asking $9k OBO. I’m currently off the rest of the year (traveling RN) so if any serious out of state buyers are interested I wouldn’t be against a road trip to deliver it/meet and fly home.
