Hey man, love your roof rack.
I am looking for a full length roof rack for my 97.
how did you attach it to your roof? almost looks like
its sitting down directly on the roof.

I have the factory rack, but it only takes up half the roof like it was made for a truck with a sunroof. I am trying to find a full length rack and basket.

Great mod, never seen a 3rd gen with a snorkel before now. x2 to whoever said they didnt think they could drill all the holes.

okay I am following along here-someday I may need that snorkel but I did not even notice the rack until now.

So 67siaa that is a Land Rover Defender fitment of rack up there?

I am trying to study how it mounts so flush to the roof as well. I can't fit in my garage any more (with rack on top of the factory cross bars) now that I am lifted.

Once I do my body lift it will get even worse of course...

Could we see a shot of how that attaches to the factory rails?

Just to show I am not that blatant of thread hijacker I will start my own on this topic as well.

No prob on the pics. I like the rack very much, the + low profile so I can still fit in the garage for "fixing days". Where the sunroof is, there are no bars so you lack this space for cargo, it was done this way as an emergency exit - in case I roll. But now I wish I had the extra cargo area which can be fix easy by placing a 1/8 sheet of plywood when needed for more load space.

Safari Snorkels

Hi Guys,

I looked at the official website of Safari Snorkel. Due to the fact it is an Australian company they refer to the Hilux models, nevertheless the engines are similar(?) for the 4Runner (for mine it is). Pick your engine type and find the specified snorkel.

I currently life in Mongolia and bought a second hand 4runner here. I seem to have to only 4Runner in town, all others are Hilux. But it is a Canadian model (?) with the 2.7L Engine.
