1999 keyless rear window down not functioning

Pretty sure 99's were capable of having the rear window roll down with the key fob. When I bought the truck PO lost fob. So got a new one from amazon and programmed it all up. Everything works but the keyless rear window button doesn't. Rear wiper works, rear defrost works (I think), window rolls up and down via interior switch and with key in lock cylinder. Did I buy some bunk amazon crap?

Hey Charlie,
no worries. Yeah Ive tried holding down, double clicking, in the truck, out the truck. doors locked, doors unlocked. truck on, truck off. haha Im at a loss. Is there a receiver in the rear door or in the rear ECU that might of pissed off?

The receiver for the remote is in the rear door (for all functions). If the window rolls down from the other two options (hatch keyswitch and dash button), the rear door ECU is working... (the dash switch uses the multiplex communication system to talk to the rear door - it isn't a direct connection)

I wouldn't be surprised if that button isn't working on the remote. :AK47:

All I can say is that you have to hold the button down for a couple of seconds before the rear window goes down. It's bizarre that everything works separately, not just that combination of functions.

There's no light on the fob to let you know it's doing anything, it's possible that that particular switch is bad. I don't know of a particularly good way to test it at home, I have seen little tester displays at Autozone before (trying to sell you batteries for the fobs) - you could see if the fob does anything when that button is pressed.

I've held it down for well over 10 secs before. Actually my fob circuit board has little red LEDs on it once your crack open the case. All three LEDs light up with their coresponding button so it's gotta be doing something. Maybe the particular fob I bought is the wrong. What's the FCC ID number thingy for 1999 4runners??

When I bought my '99 it had no factory remotes, just a cheap fob for a 2-way remote start.

I bought a pair off of Amazon and programmed them at home. These ones say they replace HYQ12BBX, HYQ12BAN and HYQ1512Y. I do have all 4 functions working on mine.
