1999 SR5 Driveline Vibrations

Sorry to the OP for throwing so much money at this problem. That what me & my mechanic are trying to avoid.

I'm having the same vibration at 60mph in 4th & 5th gear. I have a stick. It started driving home on the highway after wheeling on some easy dirt roads. It not a balance/tire issue. It feels like a drivetrain issue on acceleration. My shaft looks straight, the weights are there. The u-joints have normal play, they have been greased regulary. My mechanic is running out of ideas & is now thinking it’s a diff issue but we haven’t replaced anything yet.

I can get the vibration to almost go way in 5th gear by letting off the gas around 60mph when the vibration starts & they flooring it up to 70-75mph. Obviously I can’t drive around that fast all the time especially since this is my bad weather vehicle to get back & forth to work.

My vibration looks like it's the DC joint.

I know this is a 5 year old post, but it's the best one I can find with the same issue that I have. Anyone find a definitive issue? 99 t4r 4x4 limited. I have replaced my u-joint, double carden joint, and had my driveshaft balanced. The vibration was reduced significantly but it's still there. Right around 55 the rumble starts and gets worse until 65. Then kind of disappears somewhere around 75mph. Any time I'm in that range if I let off the gas the vibration goes away. This seems to be a pretty common issue but I have yet to find a real solution. Any help would be appreciated.

I have a slight vibration, also. I am running stock T4R Pro wheels. I have been reading about this problem and most folks go back to balancing. I have a 2.5" lift. I talked to an ex-toyota mechanic and he said that the Toyota's are hard to balance. If your shop is not using a "finger plate" adaptor when balancing, you may try that. Seems weird to me but when I replaced all end links with longer ones, the vibration diminished, somewhat. I am having the ITRTE's and OTRE's, along with LBJ's installed, now. Hope it works.
