What would be my beat option if I want a cheap, like around $200, lift kit? Around 2", and a good ride. I'm not using this for offloading. Just looks. Any reccomemdations?

prob a spacer lift, if you can do the work yourself you can prob come in under 200$
either check the classifieds section or heres a front spacer kit from Toytec, Daystar and Skyjacker and others make these also

x2... Don't bother with any kind of suspension lift at that price point. Plus if you lift for reals later, you can still leave in the body lift in and it will be useful whereas if you get a spacer lift, you will just throw it out if you lift for real later.

I've heard that spacer lifts aren't very good. So I have a few questions
1) would a body lift actually make my car higher?
2) are there any alternatives that are under $200 that aren't spacers?
3) and if I went for a toytech, daystar, or skyjacker lift, which one is the best?

1) The body lift does just that, lifts the body. It doesn't affect the suspension at all. The reason alot of guys do it is because lifting the body raises the wheel wells relative to the wheels, so it makes room for larger tires. It is pretty easy and fast. There are some minor issues that come with it, like a little gap in the bumper, but for just a 1" lift, they are pretty minor and most people don't seem bothered by it.
2) Not that I know of. It would be really difficult to find suspension replacements for <$200 total, they would probably be junk if you did.
3) I don't know much about the difference in the companies, but they are pretty much just a solid machined piece of metal. There can't be too much difference.

Daystar and SK are poly but not much difference between any of those. im just not a fan of body lifts so if you want cheap id do the Daystar 2.5" for $159 shipped, cant beat that

spacer lifts are even worse than a body lift IMO because they destroy your coils with preload which makes for an awful ride that gets stiffer and harsher as time goes on. I say don't waste your money on spacers. In a year, you'll be dying to get rid of them and have to spend at least $700 for all new shocks and coils. A body lift is ~$120 and can be taken out and sold in ~2 hours if you decide to get rid of it. If you do a suspension lift, save up and get a real kit or you're just wasting your time and money in the long run.

So right on there Brian, it took me all of 2 months to replace my coil spacer lift with a real suspension lift, I had no intention of 4wheeling until I got the coil spacer lift. within 3 months I had a real lift.
I still may go with an inch body lift too...
