I thought I saw it somewhere some year that there was a breakdown of produced colors/models. Anyone recall that?

I also personally know of 3 people who replaced their older FJ Cruisers with one this year. Some of that crowd is moving to the 4Runner for lack of a suitable replacement as far as they are concerned.

Yup, owned 2 PFs, I really liked them, good vehicles, but also glad I didn't get another in 2010. I would've bought the 2010 w/V8 except they wanted waaay to much $$.

This. There is no other vehicle IMO with the features, looks and reliability. The latter being the biggie to me. There are some very attractive SUVs; Audi, VW, MB, Volvo, Lexus ... and only the Lexus would have Toyota reliability. But I simply will not pay Lexus money for what amounts to image IMO.

At least we don't have the 4th gen guys coming over and using sales figures to "prove" that the 4th was the best anymore. I would say it's getting kinda lonely without them, but 1 out of every 2 threads still turn into a shi*show, so we are doing fine on our own.

It's not just your opinion. Check over the part numbers for things like the suspension, transmission, and engine.... more often than not, you'll find a ton of overlap in the parts used.... begging the question, what actually are you paying for that's upgraded?

With Mercedes and Lexus --- there's probably not a whole lot of overlap on anything... maybe not even oil plugs. You look at Highlander and RX350.... well, Lexus or toyota service departments would be able to service either with minimal need to get a part from the other.
