1st gen 4Runner - Gauge cluster no warning lights

Hi, it's me again with other issue...

The dashboard in my 1st gen 4Runner SR5 has a background light, and that's all, doesn't show any warning lights. I think, at least, the parking brake, battery charge, oil and engine check should be visible with the key in, but it's not happening.

Can you point me in the right direction to solve this?
Can you take a photo of your gauge cluster with the lights on and upload it please, to have a reference.

take it out and check the back of it. Allot of my lights were inoperable as well. I found a couple of traces that were broken. If that is the case with yours scrape off some of the protective coating and solder in a new wire to reconnect the broken trace.

There's another fuses box in the glove compartment? I didn't know that. Thanks a lot!
I'd love a pdf copy of the owner manual. Do you know a place to download it?

By the way, that gauge cluster looks very clean, have you uploaded photos of your 4R in the forum?

Your symptoms on this and other posts point to Engine Fuse.

I've checked the fuses, they're good, so I'll follow your recomendation, I'll check the back of it. I'll post whatever I found.

How did you "Check" the fuses? Looked at them?
Measured voltages at all points that take power from the fuse?
Measured if there's even 12 Volt at the fuse holder?

A visual check, they're not burnt... and I just learnt that it's not enough.

The fuses number 8 and 11 are the ones I need for the gauge warning lights, those're not broken/burnt. I'm going to test them deeper, I'm still waiting for my multi-meter, I ordered online and hasn't arrived yet.

I think the fuse holder gets 12 volts because the tail lights, radio, antena, stop lights, interior lights work, they're in the same fuse holder/box.

Sorry you did not tell us whether you have 22RE or 3.0. That makes a lot of difference. If 22RE I can help you a lot because when have mostly same electrical and mechanical.
May I also suggest you out year-model, engine & transmission on signature. That would help save a lot of time.
Also pls post pics of your fuse blocks.
One in left side kick panel, and one next to battery.

Nice job! It looks like you're knocking out quite a few issues. You've posted some clean quality pictures of the areas you're working on, but not the whole truck? Let's see this thing already! Your pictures are so good that even if it's a turd, I'm sure you'll make it look good

I'm getting a lot of help from other first gen 4R owners, that's the only reason mine's alive again. The body needs a lot of work also, besides that there's not easy to find parts in The Netherlands. Things're more complicated here.
