Hello I need a new radiator for the the 1st gen. Wondering if anyone can suggest one they are using or have had good luck with. I've seen koyo being suggested but can't seem to find the one for my truck. Everything else seems kinda crappy. Thanks!

Modine is a very good brand, I have a Go-Dan in my 84 (I think Trans-Pro owns them now).
If you have the 4 cyl engine a rad for the 22RET will cool better and fit.

I went with a factory Toyota copper/brass unit. They have upgraded the core of it for the V6. It is pricey at $580, but well worth it, as you'll never need to buy another in your lifetime. The truck will run much cooler and it fits properly (ie plug and play). Best of luck with it.

3row all aluminum

I am pleased with a three row all aluminum radiator fro:keyboard:m fleA-bay was $175 at the time. clean welds

It looks ok. Probably Chinese junk. I'd listen to 77911 and fourwd1 and go with a factory(pricey but worth it), or a proven brand like Modine. Have u looked into repairing the original? That's what I did with mine. Had it rodded out for around $75. The originals are the best IMHO...

1988 Radiator Replacement

I'm a new owner of a 1988 4runner 3VZE SR5 automatic. I'm collecting a list of recommended parts for when the need arises. For instance, a external transmission cooler (B&M 70264).

I read all sorts of good reviews for KOYO. I haven't found a Koyo PN for the 1st generation 4Runner. Koyo B1998 is recommended for new generations. I've read a thread about Koyo C1755.

Can someone share radiator PNs?

Thanks...

Koyo's are excellent, but they are not easy to find, especially locally for most folks. I have a CST 3 core radiator right now, and have been using that one for many years, still goin' strong and probably 100k on it.

Also, you can get a 3 core copper radiator from Napa, it is equipped with the auto trans cooler. Works very well and fits perfectly, both 4 cylinders and V6 setups.

1st gen radiator

I was able to find a Koyo C1755 on Amazon.

Koyo VS OEM are the same height but the width on Koyo is a few inches wider.

I'll have to take careful measurements on the 4Runner.
