1st gen body on 2nd gen frame

Well tearing my 1st gen apart I noticed my frame is bent a lot worse then what I thought originally. after the wreck. I possible have a line on a 2nd gen rolling chassis. Will my body swap over without trouble? Basically are the body mounts in the same place? I can get 1st gen frames easily but I would like the coil rear suspension. I search for the subject but could only find 1st gen bodies to 3rd gen frames. If its an easy swap its the way I will go

The body mounts are not in the same place. But they are close. And if you can cut and weld, its possible.

Too much effort, if you ask me. It'd be easier to add coil buckets and control arms to a 1st gen frame.

Not easier but infinitely cooler would be to 4-link it.

Im gonna go look this weekend. I dont wanna do a lot of cutting and welding to the frame. I already gotta do that with the front clip.

if your going to go through all the trouble of a frame swap why dont you swap your body onto a frame you want. like one with a strait axle that you can bolt a 22re into or why not get a 3rd gen frame with a 3.4 in it? your talking about putting in so much effort why not make it worth it so that in the end its better than what you started with?

I would love to use a 3rd gen frame and motor but they are not cheap. But it all depends on the insurance settlement on what I really do. The biggest thing I'm worried about is just getting my runner back on the road and wheeling. Till then my transportation has 2 wheels and pedals.
