Hi, my name is Chris and I have a 4Runner problem. There... I said it.

I have a couple 4Runners. One is a wheeler the other is a project. Both are heavily modified for different purposes. I'm not going to list the full build sheets in this thread, but post up any questions you may have. I'm located in the land of liquid sunshine- Seattle, WA. I am an engineer and fabricator. I'm always looking for new projects and products, so feel free to hit me up if you are looking for something new/unique! Thanks for checking out my thread and don't be shy!

Thanks chaosrob. You're definitely right! The stock powertrain in these trucks leaves something to be desired. Both of these have 3.4l swaps. Great motor for these trucks but it would be fun to have a bit more power sometimes.

Yeah, I've been eyeing that Cummins R2.8 swap for the pinstripe runner. I think it would be a great motor for that platform. hmmmmm

... Both of these have 3.4l swaps....

I think the 3.4L is the best upgrade for the first-gen; more power, Toyota reliability and UNLIKE the 3rd gen there is no lower ball-joint under tension that is a potential for catastrophic failure.
