I have a 1st gen roll bar I would give anyone if they want to pay the shipping from Canada (probably going to be around $100). I had found one and modified it to fit my 3rd gen but decided I liked having the use of the cargo cover, the roll bar has been sitting in my garage for months.

Put it in through the back doors, you don't have to cut it.

Your so helpful... This was not what I asked... I have had my roll bar in the back of my truck, I want to make installation and removal easier, and more practical so that I can run bothe ways...

CL is usually the way to go. Got mine for $20 off there, and I've seen them pop up every couple months or so.

I love the roll bar! It brings me back to the nostalgia of the 1st Gen that I had in college. After reading this thread. Called up Yotayard here in Denver. They had several 1st Gen roll bars in stock. I picked up one for $50. I followed the recommendation to shorten the tubes by 2" (nearest the wall of the truck), with a taper of 1/4" and 5/8" to match the slope of the two different wheel wells. By far the hardest thing about this project was not scratching up the paneling when putting the roll bar in place. I cut backing plates out of 1/4" steel, and found that 3/8" x 2" stainless steel bolts did the trick. Now I've just got to start mounting tools to it!

The roll bar seriously limits your interior cargo space. The roll bar was in the 1st gen so that you could still (kinda) protect passengers when the top was off.

Yep and I actually still use my cargo privacy cover.
I've got one in my 2000. It does limit your cargo space, and that rollbar isn't going to do much by way of safety.
I have mine because I got it for $50, and it has the desirable OEM pad in pristine shape. Couldn't pass it up.
Ended up using it to mount an extinguisher, and I've used it numerous times to bungee-strap things to in the cargo area.
It's not very functional, to be honest.
Looks retro-- sure. Not everyone's cup of tea, but I think it's rad, BRO!
It will not work with this roll bar.

I know....I like to sleep under it - covers my lower half. I do appreciate the 'Looks Rad, BRO' aspect of the roll bar, however. I can't advertise my gear while I still live in the GTA City, sadly.
