1st Mod - Interior LEDs (pics)

Inspired by all of you awesome forum members, I decided to start off the mods to my (new to me) 2005 Limited with interior LEDs. Hope you enjoy the pics...it's the first mod of many to come. Special thanks to FoSheezy for pointing me to the right vendor, however I did make a few changes to what he used.

I didn't want to make the interior super bright, so I opted to use the more standard "bulb" type of replacements in the dome lights rather than the big flat panels that need to be taped in the area with some possible cutting or mods. It was a little cheaper and definitely much faster since it just involved popping out the DE3175 and putting the new LED version in.

I am still waiting on the vanity lights for the sun visors (out of stock). So now I'll probably move my focus to HIDs for the headlights!

Pics look good. In regards to the maplights...when sitting in the drivers seat do you feel that they are bright enough, too bright, have any glare, etc? I was thinking on getting the downfiring 2W leds from VLeds rather than the 5 led radial type you got. But yours look to be bright enough. I was worried that the side firing leds would produce some glare in the drivers eyes, any merit to that? Thanks.

I ordered the exact same set up this weekend. On the way here possibly Thursday.

I must say though that is CRAZY BRIGHT, hopefully with my darker sport interior it won't be that bright.

Looks good though, goes with the white paint.

Nice work!

I like it,, I personaly would like the cargo area and the dome lights to be bright, and the map lights not as bright, just a little dimmerm as not to blind me while driving, lol

I checked it out tonight and there really isn't any glare from the side firing LEDs. The etched pattern on the backside of the lense breaks-up the light pretty well. I like the look of the perimeter LEDs a bit better than the single end-mounted one because it's give a wider pattern/appearance rather than one white-hot bulb. (if that makes sense)

Oh, and I should say that I chose a setting on my camera geared for "low light indoors" so the shutter stays open a bit more. The few people that have seen it so far made comments like "crisp" or "euro"...nobody said "wow that's really bright".

So the pics might be a bit misleading. They are brighter than stock...but not blinding.

Hey Triguy74, looks great dude. I want to change out the running board bulb. How difficult is it to change? Do you have pics and instructions on changing this? thanks man!

hey jerrysc99, it's just a simple twist and remove. you'll might have to lay on your back to get leverage on a few of them. just be warned that dirt/crud my fall down once you start feeling around. so keep your face out of the way or wear eye protection.

Well I followed suit and ordered these as well. I also ordered LED's for my license plate too. I'll post pics of the plate lights when they get here in a few days.
