The forum recommends the 2 model numbers for ngk and denso but when I do a parts search for 99 2.7l the denso does not pop up. Does 2.7l use different denso plugs?

You are referring to the 2 different dual electrode plugs of the v6 I think.

The 3rz uses a different plug, a normal single electrode plug. Costs about 2 or 3 dollars at the dealership for the proper Denso. I doubt you will find anything much cheaper elsewhere.

The references to 2 different plugs on the 3.4 (NGK and Denso) are a manufacturing/assembly nuance. Both are dual electrode plugs and but different brand plugs were used by different cylinder head assembly plants/suppliers.

Your 2.7L should use a Denso K16R U or NGK 2460 (BKR5ES)

Just go with the cheap copper Denso (#DENSO 3119 (K16R-U)). They are cheap and work great with this engine.
