2.7 Valve Cover Gasket Replacement. Silicone needed?

Is it necessary to put black silicone on the front of the engine where the pieces of metal come together? I saw on a video that someone did this and wondering if it is necessary? I know it takes 24 hours for the silicone to cure and I will need to drive the truck tomorrow morning. Any ideas?

Yes, the half-moon will need a dub of silicon. It should dry in 1 hour and can put it into use if you let it dry for 6 hours.
