20% off Yeti Coolers, No Joke

Alright folks. I found this hard to believe so I had to check it out.... I have been looking at purchasing a Yeti Tundra 65 for about 6 months, but I did not want to pay full price. Every deal I found (coupons etc) always seemed to exclude Yeti. Then my buddy [MENTION=50227]dirty[/MENTION]martini told me about REI's sale. I went online and checked it out. I did not believe what I was seeing so I called my local REI store. The guy on the phone confirmed that Yeti was not excluded in the 20% off coupon. In fact he told me, yeah it is pretty incredible huh. I ran down to the local REI today and the coupon actually worked. It ended up saving me $80 on my Tundra 65. You can use it either online or buy it in the store. Still a lot of money for a freaking cooler, but 20% off made it a lot more palatable. You can also use it on just about anything the REI sells....

This is a great price, great deal...I contemplated purchasing a Yeti for many months, almost bought one a few weeks ago. When I got to work last Monday I had an email to pick up my free Yeti from the warehouse for helping on a major project. Thought I was getting a cup and got a Tundra 45

I put 20 lbs of ice in it two days ago, in the garage, I am doing my own experiment...

Yep, I took advantage of the REI members 20% off to buy a Yeti Tundra 50, plus I used my annual dividends on the purchase to save $120 total. Still a bunch, but it made the purchase a little easier on the wallet.
 
I would love to purchase a Yeti just because of how much smaller they are than my Pelican. However, take issue with their model numbers "not being associated with their capacity". So a Tundra 65 has a capacity that's nearly 4 liters less than my Pelican 65. I don't think that's AWFUL, but I am not impressed. Where it gets crazy is with the larger models. The Tundra 105 is only 82.5 Liters?! That's like 22% lower than what most consumers would ASSUME the capacity to be.


All that said, I may treat myself to a new Yeti 75 this weekend while my wife is out of town. If I can get Costco to refund my Pelican (the drain leaks a little...) the Yeti 75 would be a damn near free upgrade after 20% off and my dividend.

Add one to your cart and check out the ship date. I tried to purchase one awhile back and it said late July. I thought, "this HAS to be a mistake" and wrote them an e-mail asking about it. It's real.

They do seem like a good option, I just cannot wait until summer is nearly gone in the PNW to receive it.

**edit** I just check again and it says shipped by May 31st... Maybe this IS an option again.

Mr Wilson, I agree with you. Looking on the inside of my T45, it looks close to the capacity of my Igloo 30, no kidding.

Ended up paying $40 out of pocket. I am STOKED about the size (and price) of it. Capacity, as I said above, is about 4 quarts less than my Pelican. However, it fits SO much better in the back. Before I had to fold the seat down. This thing fits like a glove.

Bulk is the enemy of a 3rd gen 4Runner and the Pelican 65qt is nothing but bulk.

Turned out to be $38 because they gave me 25% off due to the fact that there was a small scratch on it and they didn't have any new ones still in the box

Ahh you used your dividend on top of the coupon, makes sense. I've been wondering what to use my 20% off on...

Dude thank you so much for letting us know about this. I had a huge dividend sitting at REI so I got a Yeti Tundra 65 for $85.12 (previously $400) after the discount and dividend kicked in. :reddance:
 
I looked at them and considered one, until I opened one and saw how little they are inside and how heavy they are. Those super thick walls take up a lot of space. Not for me personally, but I can see where folks would have a need (want) for one. If I had no cooler at all, maybe .....
