20 years ago today, I bought my 1st and only 4Runner. I always liked the 4Runner - but when I saw the '99 in Imperial Jade Mica with color matching bumpers and hood scoop I was sold. I wanted the rear locker and was only able to find one in SoCal so I made the trip. This 4Runner and I have been through a lot of adventures together and if I had the chance to do it over - I wouldn't change a thing.

Purchased: January 14th 1999

Awesome. Glad to see people holding on to rigs and keeping them in good shape. The last 2 I added to my fleet belonged to 2nd owners who had put on around 200k miles each, making me the 3rd owner of a couple well maintained yotas creeping up on 300k.

Thanks for your post. How do I determine the date my 4Runner was built?

On the drivers door jam, there's a white sticker with PSI weight yada yada.. On the upper right corner there's a numerical date (mine is 03/99) Don't be surprised if you have the previous year printed. (an early '99 would be manufactured in say 12/98
