2000 4Runner Dim Headlight/Bad Focus?

It seems like my left headlight is dimmer than my right headlight for some reason...it also seems like no matter how I adjust it up/down or left/right, it makes little difference, and they both seem to point off to the right of the vehicle. The right headlight is definitely brighter, and I can see what looks sort of like a straight line at an angle being projected from that lamp; kind of a linear hot spot out in the light pattern. I replaced my stock headlamps with Sylvania Xtravisions, but now they're just overall brighter, and still off-kilter. Is there anything I can do to try to fix this left headlight? I'm wondering if maybe the little reflector on the inside is misaligned. Both adjusting nuts do seem to turn properly, so the threads aren't stripped for sure.

Any thoughts? I can still see but it's weird having less light on my left than on my right, and it's kind of bothering me...

Also, I'm going to check the electrical connections this weekend to see if it's a dimming issue, but it seems to me that the headlights are the same intensity when looking at them from the front, it's just that the light output is not as great at the end point.

have you tried aiming them properly? Ive been fighting headlight demons for the past while too...
with a good wall, at night, about 40 ft of flat ground and a long-ass phillips screwdriver you can do wonders...
i didnt realize how far mine were off until i did this, i thought i had them dialed in...
I do now!!
