2000 4Runner with 145,000k good or bad buy?

Looking at my first Toyota and my first 4x4 to own. Its a 2000 4Runner SR5 4x4 with 145,000k on it. The leather is worn out on the driver seat, the button to lift and lower the hatch window does not work and the rear defrost button does not work? Other than that the Runner is in great shape. Transmision shifts smooth the engine sounds and runs good, 4x4 shifts with no problem. Wondering if it will last me a long time 3-4 years at least. What problems will I encounter and most important is it a good buy for $7,000. Hoping to say so long to my mustang and hello to a 4Runner.

I have had mine for about 3 years now, bought at 128k, now at 165k. Only one issue with a sensor for the 4wd system that I fixed for about 50 bucks if memory serves me correctly. That sounds like 2 unrelated electrical issues, might want to make sure it gets checked out 1st. I would be concerned that there was a prior major problems with it (like flood) and it got restored and these are the gremlins that remain? I wouldn't worry too much about the leather being worn. That is why you are paying 7k and not 35k :D
 
I was thinking they sound related, both having to do with a wire harness leading into the rear hatch. Does the window roll up/ down by the key in the rear hatch? Other then those two minor issues i think it should be fine. Run a Carfax to check for any reported damage and go from there. I bought mine 2 years ago with 150k on it and I am now sitting at 221,000 and wheel it all the time.
 
I sold my 2000 SR5 V6 4x4 with 152k miles in January '09, in tip-top shape, to a friend for $5200. Had very little problem with it. I knew I could have gotten more but it was a hardship case. I'm not sure what the going rate for one today is.

I sold my '90 2nd gen in 2002 with 205,000 miles to a friend and he currently has over 370,000 miles on it. Had very little problem with it, too.

My current '08 4th gen has only 36k miles. And I've towed with all 3. Don't sweat it. Toyota's are almost bullet-proof.

My T4R is my DD and tow vehicle. My "toy" is an '07 Stang.

Yes the the window goes up and down with the key with out a problem. Im going to purchase it today I hope thanks for all the help. I will be asking more ? when it is sitting in my drive way. Im sure my mechanic can figure out what is going on with the buttons.

Bought!!!!!

So I bought it and I love it now I have to start working on it. What kind of intake exhaust, tires, and how do i clean the leather never owned leather before ha.
 
I bought my 2k 4Runner with 144k over 3 years ago. It was a good investment! The only problems I've ran into was the fan clutch going bad this summer, and a o2 sensor blowing out of the exhuast. I did just replace plugs and wires which had a cylinder misfiring.. but the plugs hadn't been changed since 120k(196k right now), so that was just due to neglecting schedule maintenance.
