2000 SR5 Stock Suspension

Bought it with 90k miles and it currently sits at 170k on the stock suspension.

I'm in need of some new tires soon, and I'm curious what stock front and rear suspension parts I could replace to help it drive a little smoother around town.

You'd probably be fine just replacing the front struts and rear shocks. If you're doing it yourself, you'll need a spring compressor set to replace the front struts. The rears shocks can be a pain in the butt since Toyota made it really hard to loosen and tighten the upper shock mount nut with the dished out frame mount design they engineered. A Ratcheting Flex-Head Box End wrench is pretty much a necessity for the upper shock mount nut. It makes the job almost seem tolerable. I actually did the rear shocks on my rig before owning some ratcheting wrenches and it was seriously frustrating and painful holding my arm up there forever turning the nut a little and then having to blindly reset the wrench for another tiny turn over and over and over and over till I thought my arm would fall off from the pain of holding it up there for so long.

I know for sure O'Reilly rents spring compressors, so if you have one near you, you can rent a set from them. Don't let my rant above scare you away from this job. I just wanted to hit upon the importance to having the right tool for the job for the rear shocks. If you're going to wrench on your rig, a set of flex head ratcheting wrenches is a very smart purchase.

Agreed. Unless it is sitting lower in the back. Then I'd replace the rear springs too.
