2000k miles

Well i've got 2000miles on my truck and i've got two pronounced issues that are somewhat annoying. First when i turn the headlights on it somehow draws or interrupts power to the backlighting on the radio because i get constant flickering somewhat subtle but still there, as soon as i turn off the headlights the flickering ceases. Second anyone notice any type of creaking in the lumbar section of the drivers seat. It feels like a spring or something is creeking up against the fabric and it happens pretty often. Are these things i could legitimately address to a dealer for fixes?

dude, no way! i just read this and had to take more of a break from studying to reply to this. i too feel the creaking or whatever you want to call it from the lumbar support - it's almost like a pop or click. the only time i don't feel this is when it's either completely flat or as far out as it will go. anything in between and i notice it when i turn or move. it's def. annoying.

+1 here too! except mine is a more crunching, brittle feel. not too terribly annoying because because it's more feel than sound....

The display flickers slightly when the backlight is turned all of the way down. if you turn it up slightly it will stop. It is not draw from the headlights it related to you headlights because there are different brightness settings for headlights on and off.

No issues with lumbar creaking

roger on the backlight havent checked it yet, but last time i remember i had the setting all the way down so that makes sense. Kinda of disturbing this many people are experiencing the creaking, if it doesnt "break-in" i may have to see what toyota has to say...

Many have had the seat squeek problem on the 4th Gen. so you might want to search over there also. I think it was on the rear seats though. Uneek will know.

I would take it back to my dealer ASAP.

I have a little over 3000 miles now and no problems at all.
(knocking on wood). I had a rattle like noise coming from the right side somewhere. It turned out to be the passenger side seat buckle rubbing/rattling on the sidewall.Fixed it by putting a piece of soft side velcro where it touched.

I had 82000 on my last 4th Gen when I sold it. Never even had 1 single problem. NADA

On the 4th gen, it's usually the passenger side seatback on two row seating 4Runners that squeaks. A wrap or two of electrical tape around the D-loop where the seatback latches onto fixes it. Toyota did issue a TSB for it as well.

There is also a driver seat squeak and popping sensation that happens on both the manual and powered seats. I haven't experienced this on mine.

I noticed the lumbar problem as well. I am not having the flicker issue with my radio, however I always have my dimmer switch on the bright setting.

Regarding the lumbar issue, it's not bothering me at all yet. That may change once I'm on a long trip.
