Hi - I am a newbie to this forum and hopeful some of you can help isolate what is going on. I have an intermittent acceleration problem with my 2001 4-Runner Limited. While driving (at various speeds), I press the accelerator and nothing happens. The car remains at the speed it was going. No change in RPM's and no increased speed. If I am stopped waiting to make a turn, I have stepped on the accelerator and there is a giant hesitation with no movement.
If I get off the accelerator and press it again, most of the time that solves the problem. This has happened when I've been stopped and waiting to make a turn and it happens when I am driving at freeway speeds trying to change lanes etc.
I would appreciate any help you could provide.
