2001 4Runner Alarm Problem

I have a 2001 Toyota 4runner with a super sensitive car alarm. Every time it rains, or a loud car drives by the car alarm goes off. It is extremely aggravating as a storm can keep me up all night as my alarm continues to go off. I tried to disable the alarm by pulling out the fuse but that also disables the horn which I would like to keep. I haven't found much help online which is why I am here. There is a little red button to the left of my steering wheel which I believe has something to do with the alarm. I pushing it in ( which makes it red) and pushing it out but the alarm still sounds. Please someone help me. Thank you
