Does anyone know how to disconnect the manufacture alarm in a 2002 4Runner? I have gone through 3 batteries because the alarm continuously goes off. It is very sensitive.

When this happens, the issue can be in the tailgate switch. Just do a quick search on here, it’s a know issue.

Yes I had this same issue too, it was the tailgate switch like Boognish_Forever mentioned. When the door ajar light is constantly on the truck will set the alarm off. Cutting the red wire? fixed the issue.
