2001 4runner sr5 rookie suspension question

i have 2001 4runner sr5, i am new to 4runner's and so far i love it
i have a question about the suspension in this car, i was pretty sure that the car has 'struts' in the front and 'shocks' in the back, my rear end is very bouncy, and looks like the shocks are gone due to previous owner towing a trailer with the car. so i was looking on ebay for rear shocks and found sets of BILSTEIN shocks for front and back which confused me, i thought the fronts were struts and rear were shocks. please clear this up for me.
Also what brand of replacement suspension works well ? im not looking for any lift, or heavy duty, i just want smooth working suspension. i was thinking MONROE, BILSTEIN(4600) OR OEM, i dont want a stiff ride either. if you have part numbers please include them in your response

thats what i have in mind , if i go with bilstein are both front and rear shocks?
when i look up monroe im pretty sure the fronts are struts and rear are shocks.
what should i install in my car ? i wont be doing much offroading, maybe a little back road driving when i go up-north with the dirtbikes or camping.

No- the front will still be a strut, and the rear will be a shock.

If you're not going to be doing any offroading I'd just get some factory shocks/struts from the dealer. They're generally reasonably price and ride very well... Like it did when it drove off the lot.
