I got a JDM engine with 56000 miles on it to replace my old engine with 160000 miles. The previous owner didn't take care of it and its burning oil.
My question is, If I am installing the same type motor in as before will I need to re-flash the ECU?
I'm sure it's been posted somewhere, but why would you need to swap the intake manifold and oil pan/pickup?
What vehicles do they get these engines from? I know they came in the Tacoma, T100, Tundra, and any Japanese named variants, but I wouldn't think Toyota would change mounting designs THAT much.
Exhaust manifold I understand, as even an inch difference along the whole length of the vehicle changes the angle, and Cali exhaust, etc.
Some 5vzfe were in vans. That had a different set up front. So different shape of oil pan. The intake has different bullshit on it that you can't use with usdm. Depends where the 5vzfe was in before you got it.
